Skin & lab As far as first impressions go, Skin&Lab Dr. Pore Tightening Glacial Clay Face Mask takes the cake. Why? A few seconds after applying the mask, I was met with a burning sensation! Thank goodness I was sensible enough to not lay it on thick on my skin. Luckily, the burning sensation died down after a few minutes.

Formulated for pore contraction, sebum control, acne treatment, deep cleansing and hydration balancing, the Skin&Lab Dr. Pore Tightening Glacial Clay Face Mask contains Canadian glacial clay, oatmeal extracts, tea tree extracts, portulaca oleracea extract, allantoin, kaolin and bentonite.

Review

The clay mask smelled strongly of tea tree which probably explains the burning sensation as it was really similar to the burning sensation that I would get when I used to apply tea tree oil on my acne.

Since I applied only an adequate amount of clay mask on my face as opposed to laying on it thick, it only took the recommended time, 15 minutes, for the clay mask to dry despite the humid air.

The burning sensation was the most intense on my nose and on my cheeks. I think it was because there were more deep-seated dirt and blackheads on my nose. The clay mask had the most effect on my nose, leaving it so squeaky clean, it's shiny. The burning sensation was more unbearable on my cheeks but once the worst has come to pass, there were no other discomforts.

Despite the burning sensation, my skin was not red at all nor was it irritated.

As for my skin in general, after washing off the clay mask, my skin felt cool to the touch. Unlike other clay masks, it doesn't dry the skin, it was even soft and slightly moist.

This clay mask is not for the faint of heart but if you can get past the burning sensation, the results are pretty good. You can also opt to target problematic areas only rather than applying the glacial clay mask onto your entire face. Actually, on my third time using the Skin&Lab Dr. Pore Tightening Glacial Clay Face Mask, I applied it solely onto my nose and there was little to zero burning sensation.  

It has a pretty texture which due to the clay with oatmeal.

Spatula

It comes with a spatula which was really convenient. Aside from hygienic purposes, it helped me in evening out the clay mask on my face without leaving my hands with a mess.
