8 THINGS BLOGGERS ON A BUDGET NEED FOR TAKING PRODUCT SHOTS
DEAR DREAMERS
Most bloggers end up worrying about the quality of their blog photos at some point or another. Some spend money on equipment, and some, who cannot afford to spend on equipment or maybe just want to save money, turn to cheaper alternatives to upgrading their photos. If you are the latter, then this article is for you. This article lists all the items I got to improve the overall outlook of my shots of products.
CARTOLINA
Cartolina or thick colored paper instantly change the look and feel of a photo. There are various colors that match the style I’m after for my photos, whether it’s taking photos for kawaii items, beauty products, fashion items and even food! Best of all, these don’t take up much space because they’re paper.
FUR RUG
Most fashion blogger and beauty blogger own a fur rug of their own to create beautiful flatlays. These fur rugs give an instant luxurious feel to photos and sometimes give off a different shade, depending on the lighting. However, these rugs are not only good for flatlays, check out my article on 5 ideas you can use your fur rug.
There are big fur rug but there are also compact ones like the one from The Fur Factory in the photo which can be easily taken with you anywhere.
WOODEN BACKGROUND
Most homes have wooden floors or tables so it’s something easily accessible and useful for creating stunning photos. The texture of the wood makes simple objects stand out. It also looks good when pairing it with cartolina or fur rug for a different kind of look.
For those who don’t have wooden floors or tables, you could opt for vinyl tiles for a cheaper alternative and I’ve found out that they have all sorts of different wooden designs.
WHITE BACKGROUND
White backgrounds are simple and can make a photo light up wonderfully. It’s versatile and easily accessible since you can always use paper for it.
FLOWERS AND PLANTS
Flowers and plants, whether they are real or fake, make photos look natural and even girly. Depending on how you use them, your photos can look vivid and colorful. You can even use them to frame your items in the photos.
SUNGLASSES
Fashion bloggers usually use this alongside other fashion items or even food. It makes for a great addition to the photo especially if you have chic or funky sunglasses.
CONTAINERS
Boxes of all sorts like wooden boxes, glittery boxes or even the box that came with your package are a great way to frame your items in the photos. Boxes come in different colors and shapes too which will keep your photos from being boring!
DIRECT SUNLIGHT
Every photographer’s best friend would most likely be natural light. Be it the golden hour or through a window, natural lighting helps photos look beautiful because it has the best lighting especially for those who cannot afford expensive photography equipment.
