MINIMIZE CLEANSING TIME BY REPLACING CLEANSERS WITH MICELLAR WATER

When I was in high school, I used to follow the whole cleanser-toner-moisturizer routine because of acne breakouts. A couple of years later, I got lazy and ditched the toner and sometimes, even the moisturizer because I was often too tired. There were even times where I would just use water to cleanse my face but I would always use a makeup remover to strip the makeup off my face because I know just how important it is to always remove makeup before sleeping.

Who knew that I was almost close to achieving the minimalist way of cleansing my face? If I had known that Micellar Water has been around for a hundred years then I would have upgraded from cleansing with water to cleansing with Micellar Water.

WHAT IS MICELLAR WATER AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

Micellar Water is an all-in-one makeup remover and cleanser. Parisians have long been using this wonder cleanser as the water there was too harsh to be used on their face.

HOW DOES MICELLAR WATER CLEANSE?

Micellar Water is made up of micelles which are cleansing molecules. Micelles act as a magnet, only attracting the impurities such as dirt and sebum while leaving the good stuff on your skin.

CAN MICELLAR WATER REPLACE YOUR EXTENSIVE CLEANSING ROUTINE?

Yes, because Micellar Water effectively removes makeup and dirt while mattifying the skin without drying it. You can swap your makeup remover, cleanser, exfoliator and toner for Micellar Water.

IS MICELLAR WATER SAFE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

Micellar is perfect for sensitive skin, oily skin and normal skin. Garnier offers two types of Micellar Water here in the Philippines, the blue one is for oily and acne-prone skin while the pink one is for sensitive skin.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE MICELLAR WATER IN REMOVING MAKEUP?

For my swipe test, I tried the Garnier Micellar Water, I was sent some of their Micellar Water to try out. Actually, it is one of the most affordable Micellar Water I could find. For the makeup, I used some of the makeup I got from the Althea Romantic Date Box.

RESULTS

In just one swipe, the makeup was nowhere in sight. It probably took only one swipe because I (gently) pressed the soaked cotton pad on my skin for a couple of seconds. I kind of gave it time to absorb the makeup. That, and the makeup I used were mostly not waterproof.

HOW TO USE GARNIER MICELLAR WATER?

Generously pour Micellar Water onto a cotton pad. Press the pad onto your face and swipe the pad over. According to the packaging, their Micellar Water requires no harsh rubbing, just pressing and swiping it over is enough.

VERDICT

An all-in-one cleanser is too good to be true especially for those who are always on-the-go. The fact that I can use it to cleanse my face anywhere I go without having to look for a source of clean water is already a winner for me. I wish I had this when we traveled to and camped at Burot Beach, my face was so oily the whole time because the only source of water we had was the sea and the pay-per-use toilet which I was too cheap to avail. From now on, it will always be a quickie when it comes to facial cleansing.
