As a fairy at heart, I was ecstatic to see that the fairies over at Althea have sent me an Althea Box! In this post, I will be introducing Althea and their Althea Box. I will also show you my unboxing video and swatches, I will share with you my review and experience of the beauty products inside the Althea Romantic Date Box.

WHAT IS ALTHEA?

Althea is an online beauty shopping site whose vision is to share Korean beauty to the world. Althea was founded in June 2015 to bring Korean beauty to the world in the same way Koreans enjoy them, authentic and at a reasonable price. Althea houses popular Korean brands such as Aritaum, April Skin, Innisfree, Holika Holika, Nature Republic, Etude House, Tony Moly and more.

WHAT IS AN ALTHEA BOX?

Althea Box is a beauty box. It is not a subscription box, meaning you can choose the beauty boxes you want to buy. There are two types of Althea Boxes, one is based on a theme like the Romantic Date Box I received while the other is called the Trend Box. Each Althea Box contains 6 - 12 full-size products.

WHAT IS THE ROMANTIC DATE BOX?

Everything you would need to be prepared for a date can be found in Althea’s Romantic Date Box. It contains 8 full-size products and can be bought for P1,320. Thanks to this Althea Box, I got to try a lot of things such as the primer cushion, cheek color cushion, matte lipstick and red nail polish.

NATURE REPUBLIC ROSE PETAL MOISTURE MASK

No matter what shape and size face masks come in, I just cannot resist them. The Nature Republic Rose Petal Moisture Mask is no exception. Before applying makeup, prepping the canvas that is our face is a must. For a soft and moisturized face, this rose petal mask comes in. It has a watery texture and is filled with rose petals (I assume it’s rose petals). After washing it off with lukewarm water, my skin felt nice and smooth.

WITH SHYAN NAIL LACQUER #MODERN RED

There are three colors that were randomly given out and I got the Modern Red. If I had to choose, I would get the Shower shade because it looks so pastel. I love that the Modern Red shade looks so elegant and not too bright. I prefer one coating over two coatings of Modern Red because it reminds me of rubies.

TONY MOLY FACE MIX PRIMER COLOR CUSHION #LAVENDER

I’m still new to the whole cushion thing but I must say it is so easy and even fun to use. The Tony Moly Face Mix Primer Color Cushion comes in lavender which is perfect for my yellow skin tone. It feels cool on the skin and it definitely brightens up my complexion!

ARITAUM SUGARBALL CUSHION BLUSHER #4 JUICY PEACH

I knew that there were BB cushions and the likes but I was unaware that there were even cushion blushers. Not only is it my first time trying cushion blushers but it is also my first time using a cream blush as well as using a shade that is not the usual pink or red. I must say, I love how it looks on my skin.

HOPE GIRL MAGIC LONG LONG LASH MASCARA

I find mascaras a bit tricky to use when I am too lazy to curl my lashes but this mascara is fairly easy to use. What’s nice about it is that it is easy and safe to remove with water because it has mild ingredients perfect for sensitive eyes.

CHICA Y CHICO MATTE LIP #JOSEPHINE

Matte lipsticks are all the rage now. However, I rarely wear lipsticks and go for tint because most lipsticks dry the skin. The Chica Y Chico Matte Lip, on the other hand, has a moist and smooth texture that does not show dry skin on the lips. I find the matte finish really elegant looking, I think I have a new favorite lippie.

IT’S SKIN MANGOWHITE BODY MIST

At first, I thought this was mango and I got a little excited because I love mangos, it was one of my pregnancy cravings. It is actually mangosteen and not mango but it smells phenomenal nonetheless, like basket of flowers and fruits.

CALMIA PERFUME IN HAND CREAM #CHERRY BLOSSOM

I have recently been watching Korean dramas such as Goblin and one thing I noticed is that they use hand creams before leaving the house. This hand cream really appeals to me thanks to its cute and girly packaging and the enticing scent of cherry blossom.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE ALTHEA BOX

It’s girly, it’s cute and best of all, the Althea Box gives K-Beauty lovers a way to enjoy their favorite Korean beauty products at an affordable price! Korean beauty products have been known to be miracle workers which is why we find the high prices of most authentic Korean beauty products here in the Philippines acceptable. However, thanks to the Althea Box, it does not have to be that way. The Romantic Date Box is valued at P5,820 but is only sold for P1,320. Plus, they even have discounts from time to time so it is really a steal. Talk about value for money, right?
