THE FAT PERSIAN
During my stay in Ateneo, I had hardly dined at any Persian restaurant. One of the few Persian restaurants I was able to try during my college days was The Fat Persian. Back then, it had recently opened and a lot of college students were eager to try it.
Their game boards such as chess and battleship can be used by customers to kill time or just to have fun with their friends.
Hummus (P95) is a staple food for Palestinians and Jordanians. Hummus is pureed chickpeas served with pita bread.
I do not really recommend ordering the hummus since it costs 95 pesos and we did not really find anything special about it but if you want to try it then go ahead. I, myself, ordered it because I had always wanted to try it out.
Do you love eating shawarma? Then you should probably try their beef shawarma (P128), it’s their own version of beef shawarma!
The idea of eating ox brain (P135) makes me uneasy. Isaac, on the other hand, was totally excited to finally be able to try it. I was curious but not enough to give it a try, Isaac says that it tasted like liver pate.
The seared ox brain was served with pita bread as well as shredded vegetable. According to the menu, this dish was a seasonal one.
The kheema n’ cheese fries (P135) was a treat, gooey cheese sauce and khemee was topped all over the crinkle-cut fries. The kheema was most likely beef.
