GIANT BUTTERFLY SQUID FROM ABOVE SEA LEVEL REVIEW
Dear Dreamers
A sumptuous seafood selection awaits seafood lovers at Above Sea Level’s first ever stand-alone restaurant!
You’ve seen them in food parks all over the metro, but now you can head over to their restaurant at 120 Maginhawa Street, Teacher’s Village, Quezon City.
Known for their “Giant Butterfly Squid”, Above Sea Level offers different sizes of fried butterfly cut squid. They come in Giant, Super, King and Groot, which all come with Java Rice.
Of course, they serve other kinds of seafood as well such as shrimp. We tried their Seafood Festival (seafood on rice) and it’s shrimp was fresh while the sauce was good to eat with rice.
As for seating, the restaurant was spacious! It had seats downstairs and upstairs. For those who want to just chill out, head on over upstairs and sit on top of the floor (with cushions of course), just like how Japanese restaurants do it.

Speaking of Japanese, they also offer Japanese food, complete with ramen and sushi.
This was the last place I ate seafood from before finding out that I have a condition that necessitates me to avoid seafood for the medication to work. I really love seafood and I’m glad that I was able to try this before I had to stop eat seafood. Sometimes I still crave for it, that crispy breading dipped into vinegar and its tender squid flesh.
